Australia Day

January 26, 2023
Sydney Harbour will come alive with activities, ceremonies and events starting from as early as 10:30am.

The 26th of January 2023 will mark 235 years since the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.

To commemorate the date, Sydney Harbour will come alive with activities, ceremonies and events starting from as early as 10:30am. From the Citizenship Ceremony at the Overseas Passenger Terminal to the Australia Day Harbour Parade and Tall Ships Parade, you’ll be hard pressed not to find something that appeals to the whole family. It’s important to note that over the years Sydney has transitioned into a city that recognises that Australia Day is a time to acknowledge the contribution of all Australians. Our history is rich with the culture of the First Peoples to and Australia Day is a time to stand together and listen, engage and discuss the past, present and future of our country.

The Sydney Harbour Australia Day daytime events culminate in the evening when Sydney Harbour is lit up with a dazzling fireworks display. The fireworks fill the skies of Sydney from 9pm in a 15-minute show that also includes light installations, music and jet ski water parades.

To make the most of the marvellous activities, ceremonies and events that take place on Australia Day, you cannot bypass an afternoon with Sydney Luxury Cruise.
